Vaidul-8, Raksirang
Bindumaya Praja, a widowed mother of five, faces immense hardship in her life. Residing in Vhaidul-8, Raksirang, she struggles to provide for her family due to a limited income. Her husband passed away five years ago from a stomach illness, leaving her as the sole provider. Despite receiving a monthly widow’s allowance of 2660, the family’s basic needs remain unmet. Furthermore, when discussing her living situation, she appears to be among the most vulnerable single mothers, living in a house constructed of wood and mud, which is in an extremely poor condition. She was living in precarious conditions without adequate security features like windows and doors. This made their homes vulnerable and unsafe Recognizing this situation, the Tukee Nivas team made frequent visits to assess the needs of this woman. After determining eligibility, we provided support to construct new homes and offered additional livelihood assistance to improve her overall circumstances.
Since completing the house, she’s incredibly happy and empowered. She exclaimed, “I’m overjoyed! No more sleepless nights worrying about rain, insects, or our old hut. Me, mother in law & my children can finally sleep soundly and peacefully.” –Bindumaya Praja
